Dangote Petroleum Refinery has officially started exporting refined petroleum products to international markets in Africa, Europe, the Americas, and Asia. This marks a significant milestone for Nigeria’s economic growth, positioning the country as a key player in the global energy market.
Ayirioritse Okerentie, Deputy Regional Director of Dangote Cement, made the announcement during the company’s Special Day at the 36th Enugu International Trade Fair. The fair, themed “Developing Nigeria’s Industrial Sector/SMEs for Economic Advancement & Global Recognition,” provided a platform for Dangote to showcase its contributions to Nigeria’s industrial development.
Global Expansion of Refined Products
Okerentie confirmed that Dangote Refinery is now exporting refined petroleum products, including aviation fuel, naphtha, Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), and automotive gas oil, to markets worldwide. This move not only enhances Nigeria’s presence in the global energy sector but also strengthens Dangote Refinery’s position as a leading exporter of petroleum products.
Boosting Nigeria’s Industrial Sector with Polypropylene Production
In addition to petroleum exports, the Dangote Petrochemical Complex has begun producing polypropylene, a key raw material used in the textile, plastic, furniture, and pharmaceutical industries. By producing this material locally, Dangote reduces Nigeria’s reliance on imports, fueling domestic manufacturing.
