In Brasília on Monday, the government of Brazil hosted Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu with a ceremonial military guard of honour at the Planalto Palace, the official residence of the Brazilian president.
The reception, personally led by Brazil’s President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, symbolized the strengthening diplomatic ties between the two nations. Tinubu’s arrival marks an important step toward advancing cooperation in areas of economic growth, energy, and global diplomacy.

The vibrant military parade, held at the heart of Brazil’s political center, included salute formations and traditional music. Analysts believe this gesture demonstrates Brazil’s recognition of Nigeria’s influence on the African continent.
