Arise News has announced the burial arrangements for its late anchor and producer, Somtochukwu Christelle Maduagwu, who tragically passed away during a robbery attack in Abuja.
The funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, October 18, 2025, in her home state of Anambra.
Prior to the burial, an evening of tributes will be held on Sunday, October 12, at the THISDAY Dome in the Central Business District of Abuja.
The event will commence at 6:00 PM, offering colleagues, friends, and well-wishers an opportunity to honour her memory.
Maduagwu, 29, was a former legal practitioner who transitioned into journalism.
She was fatally injured after jumping from the third floor of her apartment building in the Katampe area of Abuja on Monday, September 29, while attempting to escape an armed robbery attack.
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command confirmed the incident, stating that she died from the injuries sustained during the fall.
Her passing has elicited an outpouring of tributes from across the nation, including messages from President Bola Tinubu, the First Lady, and various state governors.
