The Ogun State Police Command has arrested Olayinka Isaac, 34, for allegedly defiling and raping a 17-year-old girl in Abeokuta’s Rounder neighborhood.
Frontpage Metro learned on Sunday that the incident occurred on January 23, 2025, about 4 p.m., and sparked outrage in the neighborhood.
Omolola Odutola, spokesperson for the state police command, claimed the culprit enticed the adolescent into a nearby bush before forcing carnal knowledge on her. A member of the state’s Social Orientation and Safety Corps, who assisted in identifying the culprit, went to the survivor’s mother, Oluwatoyin, and informed her that her daughter had been attacked in a bush behind the community’s “Carry Go” area.
She continued: “Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect had allegedly lured the victim to the isolated area before carrying out the heinous act.”The small girl was promptly taken to the hospital for treatment, and detectives from the Ilupeju Division apprehended the culprit.
“Officers from the Juvenile Welfare Centre visited the crime scene to gather evidence, and the case is now being thoroughly investigated. The case will be forwarded to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation.”
She told the unhappy family that the suspect will face the full extent of the law. In December 2024, Frontpage Metro reported a similar horrible incident committed against a teenager.
The Ogun State Police Command detained a 20-year-old man, Akeem Sumonu, for allegedly assaulting a 16-year-old girl in the Olodo community of Odeda LGA.
The survivor’s mother, Christiana, informed authorities that the suspect brutally attacked her daughter in October 2024, raped her, and then threatened to silence her.
