A Loss in the Makinde Family
The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has lost his elder brother, Engr. Sunday Makinde, who passed away at the age of 65.
The news was confirmed in a statement on Friday by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Sulaimon Olanrewaju. According to the statement, Sunday Makinde died suddenly in his Ibadan residence at 3:20 a.m.
Family Announces Sudden Passing
The announcement of the death was made by another brother of the deceased, Olumuyiwa Makinde, who is also the Bada Olubadan of Ibadanland and Head of the Aigbofa Family of Oja’ba, Ibadan.
“With a heavy heart, I announce the passage of my older brother, Engr. Sunday Makinde, to eternal glory today, Friday 24th of January 2025,” Olumuyiwa Makinde said in his message.
A Life Remembered
Sunday Makinde is survived by his siblings, including Governor Seyi Makinde, as well as his children and grandchildren.
