Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, is enduring a profound personal loss following the deaths of his son, Abdulwahab, and his mother, Hajiya Maryam, just days apart. The tragic events occurred shortly after he celebrated the marriage of his daughter, Fatiha.

Abdulwahab lost his life in a road accident last week, barely 24 hours after the passing of Hajiya Maryam due to an illness. These heartbreaking incidents have cast a shadow of grief over the governor and his family.

Gombe Governor Leads Condolence Visit

On Sunday, Gombe State Governor and Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum, Muhammadu Yahaya, led a delegation to Kafin Hausa town in Jigawa State to sympathize with Governor Namadi.

During the visit, Yahaya expressed his solidarity and extended condolences on behalf of the Northern States Governors’ Forum and the people of Gombe State. He praised Namadi’s resilience, describing his ordeal as a profound test of faith.

“What Allah takes belongs to Him, and what He gives is also His, for everything occurs at its appointed time according to His will,” Yahaya remarked. He urged Namadi to find solace in his faith, emphasizing that Muslims are taught to accept Allah’s will with steadfastness.

Governor Namadi Expresses Gratitude

In response, Governor Namadi expressed his deep gratitude for Yahaya’s support during both joyous and sorrowful times. He noted Yahaya’s presence at his daughter’s wedding Fatiha just a week prior to the tragic losses, underscoring the strong bond between the two leaders.

“Your Excellency, just a week ago, you were in Jigawa State to attend my daughter’s wedding Fatiha, and now you are here again to sympathize with us over the tragic losses of our mother and son. This demonstrates your love for us and exceptional leadership style. We cannot thank you enough,” Namadi said.

A Test of Faith

The governor’s experience serves as a poignant reminder of life’s unpredictability and the importance of faith in navigating its trials. Yahaya’s visit brought comfort to the grieving governor and the people of Jigawa State, reflecting the unity and shared compassion among leaders in the region.

As the Namadi family mourns, prayers continue to pour in for the departed souls. Yahaya concluded his visit by praying for Allah’s forgiveness for the deceased and their admission into Aljannat Firdaus.

The losses have left a deep impact on Jigawa State, as citizens join their governor in mourning during this challenging time.
