The first attack took place in Abatete, Idemili North Local Government Area, where three vigilante operatives, part of the security detail for the President-General of the Abatete Development Organization (ADO), High Chief Ezebinobi Ezigbo, were ambushed and killed.
Chief Ezigbo reportedly sustained serious gunshot injuries during the attack.
In a separate assault at Ukpo, Dunukofia Local Government Area, another vigilante operative was killed, and their vehicle was set ablaze. Other members of the team managed to escape with their lives.
