Kidnapping Victim Makes Miraculous Escape, Reunites with Family in Delta State

Ekiti Man Arrested for Attempting to Use Seven-Year-Old Nephew for Money Ritual

In an emotional reunion on Sunday, Joshua Jessa, who was kidnapped last Wednesday in Abraka, Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State, returned to his family after a daring escape from his captors. Jessa, reportedly held by unknown armed kidnappers, escaped on Sunday evening without any ransom being paid.

Jessa’s father, Chief Jessa Harrison, CEO of Jessa Global Limited, expressed profound relief and gratitude, describing his son’s escape as “a miraculous release.” Speaking to reporters, Harrison explained that two armed men had abducted his son and taken him into the bush. Despite initial ransom demands of N50 million, later negotiated down to N6 million, no payment was made.

“My son ran from the kidnappers to Kokori, from where he called me. I couldn’t believe it at first,” Harrison shared, adding that he immediately sought medical treatment for Joshua in Eku before bringing him home.

Chief Harrison also voiced his frustration with what he called a lack of response from local police after reporting his son’s abduction. Instead, he was joined by his brother, an SSA on Security to the Governor, and local vigilante members in the search after receiving news of his son’s escape.

Attempts to reach Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, for comment were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
