The family of the late First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor (Mrs.) Patience Umo Eno, has formally announced her burial arrangements. The funeral service is scheduled for November 29, 2024, at her country home in Ikot Ekpene Udo, Nsit Ubium Local Government Area. Governor Umo Eno, along with the family and the Akwa Ibom State Government, organized the ceremony to honor her lasting legacy of compassion and faith.
The official announcement was made by Enobong Uwah, Secretary to the State Government and Chairman of the Central Planning Committee. Uwah expressed the family’s gratitude for the outpouring of prayers, tributes, and support from across the nation, saying, “We are deeply thankful for the overwhelming love and comforting words during this difficult period.”
A series of commemorative events will begin on November 20, with the opening of the Mourning House, followed by condolence visits until November 26. On November 22, a Night of Worship and Tributes will be held at the International Christian Worship Centre in Uyo, featuring songs of worship and reflections on her impactful life. Dr. Frank Ekpenyong, SSA-ICT, remarked, “Her Excellency was a beacon of hope, and this night of worship is a testament to the light she brought to countless lives.”
Pastor Patience Eno, who passed away on September 26, 2024, was known for her devotion to her community and faith, leaving a significant legacy in Akwa Ibom State and beyond. Reflecting on her impact, Governor Eno shared, “My wife was not only my partner but a pillar of strength for our family and the people of Akwa Ibom. Her compassion and devotion were unmatched.”
