Osun 2022: Oyetola calms public anxiety by cautioning PDP against using violence

Adegboyega Oyetola,The Osun State Governor

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was forewarned on Tuesday by the governor of Osun State, Adegboyega Oyetola, to halt its inhumane practices and to stop wreaking havoc throughout the entire state.

The governor who issued the warning at the Owa of Otan Aiyegbaju palace in the Boluwaduro Local Government Area of the state, Oba Lukman Ojo-Fadipe, during the governorship campaign

He declared, “I would like to take this occasion to caution the PDP in the state about their persistent acts of violence against the Osun governor’s race. They must avoid using violence to win over the electorate since it is evident that the state is against them. Violence is not used in voting.

“We, the politicians, are tenants, and the people of Osun are the landlords.” The PDP’s acts of violence around the state indicate their desire to drive their landlords out. This is regrettable! I will always look out for your safety and well-being.

On the other hand, Oyetola urged party members not to panic and urged security personnel to pursue and apprehend the offenders.

“I’m shocked by the attack that happened right after I left the campaign site yesterday. We are doing everything in our power to keep the peace and order, so I’m pleading with everyone to keep cool and not get upset.

“We have given the security authorities the task of pursuing the offenders. Osun is renowned for its calm, and we’ll always uphold that reputation. No one will be helped or brought anywhere by violence. They have trusted me and tried me. By God’s grace, I will prevail in a free and fair competition, and we are certain to win,” Oyetola continued.

Governor Oyetola cautioned opposition party members to exercise caution, stating that elections and campaigns are not about violence, even as he pledged to build on his modest accomplishments and enhance them in his second term.

Shortly after his campaign at Gbongan yesterday, he denounced the opposition’s attack on press personnel and party supporters, stating that it was regrettable that the opposition had led to violence.

Speaking during the gathering of other traditional rulers from the Council in his palace, Owa of Otan-Ayegbaju, Oba Lukman Fadipe, stated that the governor’s lasting legacy will argue for his reelection since, in his opinion, he had done a creditable job of transforming the state.

Governor Oyetola’s administration, according to Oba Fadipe, is unprecedented. He claims that because Oyetola has been trusted and put to the test, he is deserving of another term to lead the State to unprecedented heights.

“Please continue with your good works,” he urged. We are happy with what God has accomplished in the last three and a half years. You have gone above and beyond our expectations and persuaded us beyond a shadow of a doubt.

“Your approach to governance is distinct. You have been leading a people-centered, inclusive government.

You are a man of quiet accomplishments and calculated calmness who has been able to extract water from solid rocks.

“We are aware of the resources that the State can accrue, but in spite of this clear fact, your administration has not let us down or given anyone reason to question your ability to do greatness with minimal resources.

“You’ve demonstrated that the noise is solely coming from an empty barrel. Already, your campaign tagline does the talking for you. That’s why your accomplishments are limitless.

As customary leaders, we make excellent evaluators. After reviewing your accomplishments, we are pleased with what you have accomplished.

“You have demonstrated integrity embodied for us. You exhibit Omoluabi ethics par excellence, and many people find great comfort in your composure and honesty.

“I humbly ask for your unwavering support, as he truly deserves to be re-elected.”

Continuing in the same spirit, Oba Sikiru Adeseun, the Oluresi of Iresi, praised the Governor for honoring his electoral pledges to the State’s citizens, claiming he had validated their mandate.

He stated that “seeking an alternative to the Governor is suicidal to the future of the State, and the good works of the Governor are clear testimonies to the fact that the Governor deserves the second term.”

“You deserve to be re-elected for a second term because you have proven your good intentions in everything you have done, been put to the test, and earned people’s trust.” Ride on, we’re sure you’ll succeed and get re-elected because we have faith in you. From our perspective, you have performed exceptionally well, and as traditional rulers, you have done for traditional rulers in Osun what no other governor has ever done in this state’s history.

“Your accomplishment surpasses our previous experiences. We are unaware of your source of funding for managing State matters. You have demonstrated to us your expertise in economics and finance. You’ve gone above and beyond. We will do all within our power to get you returned.

“Even though it is expected of us to be apolitical, we are all political creatures in reality. Both the people of Osun and we have chosen you. The king said, “An alternative to you is suicidal to the future of our great state.”

In his own response, the Director-General of the Oyetola campaign organisation, Senator Ajibola Bashiru, advised the residents not to be influenced by the aggressive behavior of PDP but to remain firm in voting for APC.
