Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has reportedly been taken into custody by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force Cybercrime Centre over an alleged cybercrime matter linked to fellow actress Mercy Johnson.
According to reports, the arrest was disclosed by filmmaker Seun Oloketuyi, who shared the development via his Instagram page. Okorie was said to have been picked up by police officers at her Lagos residence before being taken in for questioning.
Sources claim that following her arrest, the actress was moved to the Criminal Investigation Department facility in Yaba, popularly known as Yaba Panti, where she spent the night due to the unavailability of a flight to Abuja at the time. She was reportedly placed on an early morning flight to the Federal Capital Territory the next day, where she is expected to face legal proceedings in connection with the case involving Mercy Johnson.
The incident is believed to be the latest twist in the long-running public feud between the two Nollywood stars. Over the years, Angela Okorie and Mercy Johnson have engaged in several heated exchanges on social media, trading accusations and counter-allegations that frequently drew public attention.
At various points, Okorie had openly spoken about the emotional strain she claimed to have experienced during the conflict. She previously acknowledged that some of her remarks were made in moments of anger and emotional distress, admitting that she later reflected on her actions and expressed remorse for certain statements.
However, despite earlier attempts at restraint, the online dispute resurfaced, with Okorie making fresh claims against Mercy Johnson, including allegations of a personal and spiritual nature. These renewed exchanges reportedly caught the attention of law enforcement agencies.

The alleged cybercrime case is understood to be linked to the series of online posts and statements made during the feud, which investigators are said to be examining as part of the ongoing matter.
