Navy Officer Yarima Escapes Suspected Assassination After Clash With Wike

A young Nigerian Navy officer, Lieutenant A.M. Yarima — who recently made headlines after a confrontation with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike — reportedly survived a suspected assassination attempt on Sunday evening.

According to information obtained by Vanguard, sources claim that Yarima was shadowed by unidentified men dressed entirely in black and traveling in two unmarked Hilux pickup trucks with no license plates. The vehicles were said to have trailed him from the NIPCO filling station along the Line Expressway all the way to Gado Nasco Way.

Sensing the suspicious pursuit, Yarima was said to have carried out a “strategic maneuver” that enabled him to outwit and escape from the suspected assailants. The incident was reported to have taken place at approximately 6:30 p.m.

The source further revealed that the matter is now under active investigation and is being treated with utmost seriousness. However, specific details are currently being withheld to avoid jeopardizing the investigative process.

This development comes shortly after Yarima was involved in a heated exchange with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike over a contentious land dispute in the Gaduwa District.
