The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has confirmed the arrest and court arraignment of Samuel Ojeogwu, popularly known as Sammy West — a music artist and the brother of Nollywood actress, Regina Daniels.

In a statement issued on Friday, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, disclosed that the arrest followed a formal petition lodged against Ojeogwu and three others.

The petition reportedly accused them of criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation, theft, and cyberbullying.

According to the statement, Sammy West was initially invited by the Metro Area Command for questioning regarding the allegations but allegedly failed to respond to multiple summons. His refusal prompted the issuance of a warrant, leading to his arrest in Lagos on October 28.

He was later transferred to Abuja for further investigation. Upon the conclusion of the inquiry, the police filed charges against him on Thursday, November 6, 2025, before a competent court in the FCT.

SP Adeh confirmed that Ojeogwu has since been remanded in custody pending the fulfilment of his bail conditions.

“Upon receipt of the petition, several invitations were extended to Mr. Samuel Ojeogwu for questioning, which he declined to honour. Consequently, he was arrested in Lagos under the authority of a duly issued warrant and brought to Abuja for investigation,” Adeh stated.

“Following the conclusion of the investigation, the suspect was charged to court for offences bordering on criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation, and theft. The court has remanded him pending the fulfilment of bail conditions.”

The FCT Police Command reiterated its commitment to upholding professionalism, due process, and the rule of law, assuring the public that justice would be served in accordance with legal provisions.
