Phyna Speaks Out on Viral Hotel Fight Video: “I Was Attacked, Not Beaten”

Nigerian reality TV star Phyna has finally addressed the viral footage showing an altercation in an Abuja hotel, asserting that she was attacked unexpectedly and that the circulating video has been manipulated to portray her as the one at fault.

What Happened

In her Instagram statement, Phyna explained that while leaving the hotel, she was attacked from behind and then vilified through selectively edited video clips.

She wrote: “Who I beat dey hospital, dem carry touts come fight and people to record. I was attacked from behind on my way out, dem even crop the video just to twist story say dem beat me.”

She further urged the public to pause assumptions:  “Make una rest! The girl wey I beat never even regain consciousness. Una dey mad! Pray for me make who I beat no die abeg.”

Phyna holds that the incident was instigated by hired touts and people concealing behind cameras, rather than a spontaneous fight.

Reaction

The response to her claim has been mixed. Some fans believe Phyna was defending herself, while others criticize the violence, particularly given her status as a public figure.
