Nigerian disc jockey and philanthropist, Florence Otedola, popularly known as DJ Cuppy, has opened up about one of her favorite aspects of being single, highlighting the freedom and peace it brings to her everyday life.
Taking to Snapchat, Cuppy revealed that she enjoys the simple pleasure of eating alone without the pressure of making conversation.
“One thing I enjoy about being single is eating whatever I want, whenever I want — no small talk, just me and my plate lol,” she wrote.
The post, though lighthearted, reflects Cuppy’s growing comfort with her independence following her split from British boxer Ryan Taylor, to whom she was previously engaged.
Reflections on Solitude and Self-Worth
This is not the first time Cuppy has commented on her relationship status.
In recent months, the Oxford graduate and music personality has spoken openly about the challenges of modern dating, societal pressure to marry, and maintaining personal standards.

In a separate post earlier this year, she joked about the number of suitors in her direct messages, quipping that many of them could not even spell “Pomeranian,” a playful jab at superficial attraction.
Despite these remarks, Cuppy has admitted that she sometimes feels emotional seeing others get married, suggesting that she remains open to love when the right person comes along.
Solitude
Cuppy’s candid expression of her singlehood has sparked conversation among fans, particularly young women, about embracing solitude and self-fulfillment outside of romantic relationships.
Her remarks come at a time when public figures — particularly women in the spotlight — are increasingly speaking out about the importance of self-love, personal freedom, and rejecting societal pressure to settle.
