Remember that the legendary afrobeat pioneer Fela Anikulapo Kuti built the first Shrine back in the 1970s? The New Afrika Shrine was constructed in his honor by his eldest children, Femi and Yeni, after his death in 1997. The entertainment complex that hosts the yearly Felabration music festival is poised to spread the charm of Afrobeat throughout the globe. Beginning on May 1, 2022, the TV platform will provide live coverage of all events held in the renowned 2,500-seat arena.
Other performers include Aramide, Chike, Falana, Ayra Starr, Peruzzi, Femi Kuti, Seun Kuti, Made Kuti, and Femi Kuti.
According to a statement given to Merrymakers, the Shrine will be converted into a live-stream venue to accommodate a full schedule of live events, including several of Nigeria’s most sought-after performers. Apart from the auditory elements of the shrine, there will be theatrical, comedic, and dancing performances.
