The Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has assured Nigerians that the Federal Government is working towards achieving a stable 24-hour electricity supply across the country.
Adelabu gave the assurance on Thursday during a briefing in Abuja, where he outlined the government’s ongoing efforts to address challenges in the power sector.
According to him, the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has made the provision of reliable electricity a top priority, stressing that Nigerians will soon begin to feel the impact of reforms being carried out.
The Minister explained that several interventions were ongoing, including investments in power generation, transmission, and distribution infrastructure. He also noted that discussions were underway with private sector players to boost efficiency and expand capacity.
The Commitment
“We are committed to delivering uninterrupted power supply to Nigerians. The era of epileptic electricity will soon be over. Our target is 24/7 power supply, and all stakeholders are working together to ensure this becomes a reality,” Adelabu stated.

He further disclosed that the government was addressing bottlenecks in gas supply for thermal plants, tackling technical losses, and implementing policies to encourage renewable energy adoption.

Adelabu, however, maintained that the ministry was determined to change the narrative.
